The BCS Bash

Tonight marks the end of the 2012 college football series.  Like many others perhaps you’ve spent countless hours glued to the TV or computer screen scoping out games, players and noteworthy plays.  I’ve put in my fair share too.  Did your favorite team win?  Did your team make it to a bowl game?  Did you grow hoarse cheering them on?  Or are you disgusted with your team’s season or coach?  Remember, next Fall brings new players, plays, personnel and game plans!

Several of the bowl games brought top dollar through ticket sales, commercial air time and payouts.  The lowest payout occurred December 15 for the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl at $325,000 and the highest goes to tonight’s Discover BCS National Championship at a whopping $18 million.  Wow!  Hey folks, isn’t this just a game?  Looks more like big business.

Didn’t Jesus say, “for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also?”  Yep, in Matthew 6:21.

Where is your treasure today?
