Bible Thought Blessing – Psalm 145:18

Psalm 145:18, “The Lord is near to all who call upon Him …”

I walked several steps into my darkened bedroom the other night and stopped in my tracks.  I knew one of the large wooden posts of our four-poster bed must be nearby.  My hands reached and waved into the blackness but I grasped only air and emptiness.  Again and again I tried but touched nothing.  Finally, when I brought my hands together and then stretched them out in front I found the post.  It had been inches from my face all along.  My fingers felt the edge of the bed and I climbed in safely.

Often I fret, fume and fuss during frustrating or furious times.  I wonder, “Where is God?”  “I can’t see Him.”  “I can’t feel Him.”  And, challenge, “Does He even exist?”  So, I pray, search scripture and seek the opinion of others.  Then, I pause and grow still.  God is constant and consistent; He never leaves His children.  In fact, He’s like that post.   I look up and realize I’ve been face to face with Him all along.

God stands tall right in front and He’s ready and willing to guide you safely through the dark times.  Every time.  All the time.  Find and face our Faithful Father today.
